Can I add a profile picture and a blue check?

Yes. Add profile picture opens a picture from your device, which is cropped to a circle and never uploaded. The Blue check box adds the verified badge after the name.

Which themes are there?

X's three: Light, Dim and Lights out. Mentions, hashtags and links in the text are coloured blue automatically, the way they are on X.

Can I hide the views or likes?

Yes. Leave any count blank and it is left off the screenshot. Counts are free text, so you can write 12.3K or 1.2M the way X shortens them.

Does it post anything to X or Twitter?

No. It never connects to X or your account. It draws a picture of a tweet in your browser, with no server call at any point, including the profile picture.

Is it legal to make a fake tweet?

For parody, memes, mockups and story videos, yes. Putting words in a real person's mouth to deceive people, or faking a public figure's post, can be defamation or impersonation. Use your own or made-up accounts, and label parody where it could be taken as real.

What makes a tweet screenshot believable

Counts that fit the account. A small account with a million views looks fake before anyone reads the text; a few hundred likes on a few thousand views is what most real tweets get. Reposts usually run at a tenth of likes or less, and quotes lower still.

X's casing. Tweets that go viral are rarely polished: lowercase, no full stop at the end, one line break before the punchline.

The detail view. This is the layout X shows when you open a tweet, with the time and date under the text, which is the one people screenshot to share and the one viewers recognise.
