Image to video
Turn a photo into a video in your browser. Add one image or a whole camera roll, pick a slow zoom or a pan, add a line of text and a song, and download an MP4 for Reels, TikTok or Shorts. Nothing uploaded, no watermark, no sign-up.
Drop one photo or up to 30 to turn into a video
JPEG, PNG, WebP or GIF. They never leave your device.
How to turn an image into a video
One photo: drop it in, pick Zoom in, set it to 5 to 8 seconds, and add a line of text if the photo needs context. That is the format behind most single-image Reels: a still that moves just enough to read as video in the feed.
Several photos: drop them all at once, put the strongest one first (it is the only frame most people decide on), leave Mixed motion and Crossfade on, and give each photo 2 to 3 seconds. Add a song and you have a photo reel.
Press Make the video and the browser draws every frame at 30 fps and encodes an H.264 MP4, the format every platform takes. A 20 second reel takes a few seconds on a laptop. Need the clip at another shape later? Run it through the video resizer.
Which motion to pick
| Motion | What it does | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Mixed | Zoom in, pan, zoom out, pan back: a different move on every photo, like a reel editor would cut it | Travel dumps, recaps, anything with five or more photos |
| Zoom in | A slow push into every photo. Draws the eye to the middle of the frame | A single photo with one subject: a face, a product, a dish |
| Zoom out | Starts close and pulls back to reveal the whole photo | Reveals: a before and after, a view, a finished room |
| Pan | Slides across the photo, left then right. Best for wide shots in a vertical frame | Landscapes, group shots and wide photos in a vertical frame |
| Still | No camera move: a plain photo slideshow | Quotes and text-heavy images, where moving would blur the words |
The moves are deliberately slow: a 15% zoom over the photo's time on screen, eased at both ends. Faster reads as a glitch on a phone, and faces start to swim. Fit mode keeps the whole photo and fills the rest of the frame with a blurred copy of it, the fix for a landscape photo in a vertical video.
Settings for each platform
| Platform | Frame | Seconds per photo | Length | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Instagram Reels | 9:16 | 2 to 3 s | Up to 3 min | Keep a caption out of the bottom third; the app's buttons and text cover it |
| TikTok | 9:16 | 1.5 to 3 s | Up to 10 min | Add the sound inside TikTok to use its music library |
| YouTube Shorts | 9:16 | 2 to 4 s | Up to 3 min | Vertical and under 3 minutes is what makes it a Short |
| Instagram and Facebook feed | 4:5 | 3 to 4 s | Up to 60 min | 4:5 takes the most feed height a post can |
| YouTube, X, LinkedIn | 16:9 or 1:1 | 4 to 6 s | Minutes, not seconds | Slower moves read better on a big screen |
Ways to make a photo into a video
"Image to video" means two different jobs. Moving a camera over a photo is cheap, instant and faithful to the picture: this page does it free. Making the picture itself move needs an AI model on a GPU, and every site that offers it charges credits for it. Pick by what you need, not by the name.
| Option | Cost | Uploads your photos | Watermark | What it does | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| This page | Free | No | None | Camera moves over your photos, text, music | Photo reels and slideshows you post today |
| Phone apps (CapCut, InShot) | Free with in-app upsells | Depends on the app | On some templates | Templates, beat sync, effects | Editing on the phone you shot on |
| Online editors (Canva, Kapwing) | Free tier, paid exports | Yes | Check the free export | Full timeline editing | Teams already working in that editor |
| AI image-to-video models | Credits per clip | Yes | Varies | Invents motion inside the picture | Making a still look like real footage |
| A Faceless series | 5 credits a post | No, it picks the photos | None | New photo, caption and music every day, auto-posted | Running a channel without making each video |
When something goes wrong
An iPhone photo will not load
HEIC is not readable by most browsers. Share it as JPEG (Photos, share sheet, Options, Most Compatible), or take a screenshot of it. JPEG, PNG, WebP and GIF all work.
The photo looks cropped
Fill crops to cover the frame. Switch to Fit to keep the whole photo with a blurred backdrop, or pick the frame closest to the photo's own shape.
The text sits under the app's buttons
Use Top or Middle in a 9:16 frame. The bottom third is where Reels and TikTok put the caption and the buttons; check yours with the safe zone checker linked below.
The song will not load
Browsers do not decode WMA, and some DRM-protected downloads refuse. Convert to MP3 or M4A first, or post silent and add a sound inside the app.
Want a full video from an idea instead, with a voiceover and visuals made for every line? That is a one-off Faceless video.
