Write the one-line promise
Complete this sentence and put it in your channel description: 'Every video, we [format] about [niche] for [who].' For example: 'Every video, we narrate a true story from history's darkest disasters for people who love documentaries.' If you cannot fill the blanks in one line, the niche work from chapter 1 is not done.
Channel promise template
Every video, we [format] about [niche] for [audience]. Example: Every video, we break down one money mistake and the psychology behind it, for people fixing their finances.
Name the channel for the niche, not for you
A good faceless channel name tells a stranger what they get before they click. 'Sleepless Archives' beats 'Mike's Channel' for a scary story channel. Keep it short, easy to spell, and check the name is free on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram at the same time so you can own it everywhere.
- 2 or 3 words, easy to say out loud
- Hints at the niche or the feeling of the content
- Free as a handle on every platform you will use
- No numbers, underscores or leetspeak: they read as spam
Packaging: avatar, banner, and a consistent look
Faceless channels live or die on packaging because there is no personality to carry weak visuals. Pick one color palette, one font style and one thumbnail layout, then never deviate. When a viewer sees your thumbnail in their feed, they should recognize the channel before reading the title.
Study the top 3, then differentiate on one axis
You validated competitors in chapter 1. Now pick one axis to beat them on: better hooks, better visuals, faster pacing, or an underserved sub-topic. You do not need to be different on everything. One clear edge plus consistent output beats novelty.
Copy the proven format. Differentiate on execution. Novel formats are a bet; proven formats with one sharpened edge are a plan.
